OPERATING MODEL · HOTEL
From reservation to night audit: what a connected hotel operating flow should preserve.
A hotel stay crosses reservations, front desk, rooms, housekeeping, guest service, maintenance, payments and finance. The operational challenge is keeping those teams synchronized around the same stay instead of creating separate versions of occupancy, room status and guest balance.
1. Reservation creates the stay context
The reservation establishes guest identity, dates, room demand, rate, source and commercial conditions.
Changes should remain part of the same stay history so later teams can understand what was promised and what changed.
2. Arrival turns a future booking into live operations
Front desk needs room readiness, guest requirements, payment context and unresolved exceptions before arrival.
The arrival decision should use current room and stay evidence rather than a second front-desk-only list.
3. Housekeeping controls room readiness
Cleaning, inspection and room state determine whether sellable inventory is actually ready for a guest.
Housekeeping status therefore belongs in the same room and reservation context used by front desk and operations.
4. Maintenance changes real availability
A room can be technically vacant but not operationally sellable if a defect or repair blocks it.
Connecting maintenance to the room asset prevents availability from becoming a purely reservation-system assumption.
5. Guest charges and payments accumulate during the stay
Room charges, services, adjustments and payments should remain attached to the stay and guest record.
Finance and front desk need the same balance evidence even though they use it for different decisions.
6. Departure resolves the live stay
Checkout should reconcile the guest balance, departure status, room transition and any remaining service or payment exception.
That transition also gives housekeeping and operations the evidence required to prepare the next stay.
7. Night audit closes the operating day
Night audit is where the property tests whether reservations, in-house stays, departures, payments and revenue evidence agree sufficiently to close the business date.
Exceptions should be visible and attributable instead of disappearing into a manual end-of-day checklist.
What Avantiqo is designed to preserve
Avantiqo's hotel model keeps booking, front-desk, housekeeping, maintenance, payment, revenue and night-audit context connected to the same property and operating day.
The design goal is one explainable guest stay across departments, not a collection of hotel modules that need to be reconciled after the fact.
